Specialist in RF Antenna and Microwave design

Accessible consultancy in the domain of RF antenna design and passive microwave components.

Who am I

I am Robert Fennis, a radar engineer based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands. I earned my Master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Twente. After graduation, I spent seven years working on high-level electromagnetics; five years at Thales Netherlands on military radar systems, and two years as an antenna engineer at the European Space Agency (ESA) in Noordwijk.

As a personal project, in Summer 2025 I developed and launched the EMerge software package, a FEM solver for Python. It is currently available publicly, and is free to use.

On March 20th, 2026, I launched my own business: Emerge Numerics B.V. My desire to start my own company stemmed from my passion for helping smaller companies solve technical hurdles. My goal is simple: to make antenna design straightforward and fast, no matter your market position or the size of your organization. I focus on practical, cost-effective solutions that get your project moving without unnecessary complexity. If you need a reliable design that works, I am here to help you build it.

“Robert was a pleasure to work with throughout the antenna design process. He was highly responsive, quickly understood our requirements, and provided solutions that matched our needs. We have since measured the 24 GHz patch antennas, and the results closely match his simulations, giving us confidence in both the design and the development process. We would be happy to work with him again in the future."
